How do purchases work?
Math Pals offers optional Gem packs (in-app purchase, processed by Apple) that buy cosmetic outfits only. Gems can never buy creatures, energy, or learning content — all gameplay is earned by solving math, always. Purchases sit behind a parental gate.
How do I restore or get a refund for a purchase?
Gems are consumable and are delivered to the device immediately after purchase. For refund requests, Apple handles all payments: visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account used to buy. For extra purchase control, we recommend Apple's Ask to Buy for children's devices.
How do Kid Profiles work?
Open the Parent Dashboard (chart icon on the home screen, answer the grown-ups-only question), then add explorers under Kid Profiles. Each child gets their own collection, level, island, and settings. A "Who's playing?" picker appears at launch whenever there's more than one profile.
How do I set up the family voice narrator?
Parent Dashboard → Family Voice Pack. Record the ⭐ Start Here phrases first (numbers 1–10 plus a few words) and narration begins using your family member's voice right away. Recordings stay on your device only.
My child is in pre-K — how do I make it gentler?
Turn on Early Learner Mode in the Parent Dashboard. Every problem becomes picture-first counting, gentle addition, and take-away within 10 — read aloud, with touch-to-count. Levels and creatures are never taken away.
How do I back up or move progress to a new device?
Parent Dashboard → Save Backup exports a save file you can store or share with yourself; on the new device, use Import. (Progress is stored on-device — we run no servers and collect no data.)
The app has no sound?
Check the ring/silent switch on the side of the iPhone, then Parent Dashboard → Settings for the Sound, Music, and Narration toggles.
